Unit catapult

The Catapult is one of the starting units, and does not require gems to unlock. The technology 'Ballistics' must be researched to produce Catapults (among other things). Catapults are very effective against buildings, siege machines and ships, but they can miss if they are used against moving units. They are also vulnerable to most foot and mounted melee units so make sure to protect them when you are using them. They can transform into Stand Mode, which increases attack and range but removes ability to move, as well as Packed Mode, which removes range and attack but increases speed. Researching the technology 'Area Damage' will allow catapults to deal area damage, thus increasing its effectiveness.
